What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a form of health care that focuses on the relationships within the body’s structure, with a focus on the spine and nervous system. Part of the Chiropractic philosophy involves a belief that issues within the body’s natural structure can cause problems with the functions in other areas of your body, notably the nervous system. The spinal cord and peripheral nerves communicate information from the brain to the rest of the body.
Chiropractors also deal with other spinal problems such as disc conditions (bulging and herniations), sprains, strains and non-spinal problems such as joint issues, ankle, feet, knee, elbow, hand, TMJ and shoulder pain caused by injury or repetitive stress.
Chiropractors believe that subluxation, a misalignment of the vertebrae in the spine or joint complex, will over time cause a breakdown of that communication and may cause pain and early degeneration.
As your Chiropractor I will first assess your injury with a thorough History and Examination. I will then discuss with you your options of treatment. Depending on the injury location and severity of pain, I will determine which technique and treatment is best for your condition. My goal is to get you out of pain and improve your mobility as quickly as possible. Other techniques that may be used; include Therapeutic Laser Therapy, Mobilization of the area, Physical therapy modalities, exercises and patient education to provide a comprehensive treatment approach.
